Default Phantom a/c compresser activation

Has anyone else ever had an issue with the a/c cycling as if the defroster was on while having the selector switched to something completely different than defrost.
A couple of times in the past I've had the heat set to blow out of the footwell and had it exactly set there not even close to defrost or the mixed setting and it began to cycle the a/c. Now this morning I started up my truck with my remote start and could hear the truck cycling the a/c again, and once again the selector switch was set closer to the vent & floor than anything towards defrost. Is it my switch going bad or just another random glitch with the HVAC panel.

Is it set on recirculate? That engages the compressor as well.

I had it set to oustide/fresh whatever you want to call it. Thats typically how I check to see how far i can go when selecting the floor/defroster mode, because if you leave it on fresh air the light which switch over once you get far enough to engage the a/c.

If you have auto air, the compressor will kick on to help maintain the cabin temp also.
