Default PCV setup for LQ4 with LS6 intake

I swapped to the LS6 intake for hood clearance, and I'm not sure what to do for a PCV system. Most people reference using the LS6 valley cover, but I'm not going that route.

What is a good way to route the PCV system on an LQ4 with an LS6 intake?

Thanks

If you want to run the 04 PCV system, but you're missing ports, you could always T off of the brake booster hose for your vacuum source, then run a hose from your air intake tube to the pass side valve cover for your fresh air source (if there isn't one on the intake)

I imagine I can't use the dummy PCV valve that's in there now directly to a vacuum source, can I?

So, I should get a real PCV valve, tie that to vacuum, then run from the pass. side valve cover to filtered air?

Thanks! -

Driver side valve cover vent to pcv, passenger side valve cover vent to a METERED fresh air source. If you want a catch can, it goes pre-pcv

If by "dummy" PCV valve, you mean the "fixed orifice" PCV valve, yes, you can use that as it became factory equipment somewhere along the line and goes to manifold vacuum just like the brake booster. It was GM's failed attempt at reducing oil consumption, but it doesn't work. I ran one for a while, but got just as much oil in my catch can as I did with my original spring and plunger PCV. Once I switched from my home made oil catch can to my current AMW catch can, I got a nasty whistling sound with the fixed orifice PCV valve, so switched back to the original style PCV valve. If you want to run and old style PCV valve, ask the part counter guy for a PCV valve for a 99 and you should be good to go...just be sure and shake or open the box to be sure that the part number didn't supercede to the fixed orifice style.

Thanks guys! - Probably better order a catch can; I plan on putting a good bit of miles on this one.

Yeah, I'd do the catch can for sure...if you search this section you'll find a lot of good, relatively inexpensive catch can options. The AMW that I run is an excellent piece, but the price of them has gone through the roof. There are comparable ones available, just can't think of any off the top of my head. I know that there have been catch can threads, complete with pics, right in this section

Cool. Only thing I am having difficulty with is a clean air source. I don't think metered is important for me as I am not using a MAF. Only thing I can think of is to run a breather-type oil cap instad of an oil cap, or put a hose barb into my air intake tube (I'm not sure I'll have an air intake tube ready, probably just a universal cone filter hanging off the TB for a little while.
