Default PCM selection question

Ok some of you know I am planning a stoker out of my old motor. When I do this, I am going to put in another PCM. Which one should I go with saying the motor will be about 380+/- ci. 4.8/5.3/5.7/6.0 I am leaning toward a 5.7, because you can get them to rev higher with a HPPIII. The truck HPPIII will only go to 6200. That is just one reason, there are to many to list.

Thats a good Question. What is the displacment ofthe 6.0? If its close to what the stroker is going to be, id use that one. I would think that keeping the ECU within the truck family would be a good Idea. But what the hell do I know about ECU's I just Nuked mine.

Im going to reinstall my Electric fans. If I geat an ajustable T stat on off switch what brand shopuld I buy and where can I get it? do you have a diagram for the electric fan wiring?

A company named HAYDEN makes several different temp switches for electric fans. They will come with instructions. I picked up one kit for $20 at Pepboys that is adjustable so you could have them turn of/ on at whatever temp you desire. I haven't installed it yet so I can't say how well it works.

It probably doesn't matter except that the fuel tables for the 5.7 are probably better. You're getting it custom tuned anyways, right?

From what I've heard, they are pretty universal, just have to be careful of pinouts. Valvegod, who sells many takeoff/new Gen3 parts, could give you some lowdown on this.

Greg:

In case you have wiring issues, especially ECM plug diagrams, I have full break-outs of for 98+ F-body, Y-body and 4.8/5.3/6.0L trucks. Each diagram is specific to motor and year and continues across FIVE 8 1/2" x 11" pages for each application. I would post these but I can't compress them enough and maintain the clarity needed to read the fine print...they don't even fax well. I'm going to be working on getting a larger space on the server and I will link to the high res pix.

Maximumboom:

6.0L = 364 ci
