How do you like it? I'm running a Tahoe OEM exhaust on my Silverado because I wanted quiet but it's to quiet. You may be the one that posted that I seem to be a picky SOB, and I am so it's cool. I've decided I need a little rumble coming from the tailpipe and I'm going to put a Magnaflow on my truck using the Tahoe 3" tailpipe like you did. Any problems with it? Did you do any track runs after adding just the muffler?
Thanks, Jim

The Magnaflow muffler I'm running is really big and really quiet. It has two huge side by side, straight-through pipes so restriction is non-existent. It may be too quiet for your tastes, but I really like it for mine. I got the gains in the mid-range and up high with no loss down low. One of the smaller Magnaflows would be louder, but then you'd have to put up with the nagging drone of the exhaust in the 1800-2000 rpms range.

I went from a resonance heavy Dynomax Ultra-Flo welded to 2 Magnaflows single in/outs and they are almost to quiet, but they do open up a little under throttle. I drive around a lot with the cutouts open, so that may be why I think it is soft. After seeing what your tastes are Jim, I would think you would like the Magnaflow's sound.
Good luck

Thanks Guys! I'm also getting the big *** Magnaflow muffler, it's their 5x11 large case muffler. Patrick, I notice from the part number that you opted for the 3" in & out. What did the shop do, cut the stock muffler after the 'Y' from the two outlets? I measured the dual outs on the stock muffler and they are 5 3/4" center to center. The Magnaflow I'm getting also has dual outs that are 5 3/4" center to center. I'm going to have the shop cut the stock muffler of but leave the 'Y', then just slip the Magnaflow's dual out's into the dual in's that are left from leaving the 'Y' intaked. This just seemed kind of a cool way of doing it is all, I'll post how it turns out.

My muffler shop cut the y-collector out and went single-in, single out. If you can line up the Magnaflow muffler with dual outlets to the stock y-collector, by all means do it!

Semi change of topic, but has anyone used the Magnaflow round mufflers? I'm sure they sound good, but what about the 1800 rpms drone?

BTW - Patrick, I installed the Yank TT3000 last weekend. Love it. Thanks for answering my questions last month. After having my truck for 4 years, it took a couple of days to get used to the low rpm throttle, but I hardly notice it now.

Glad you like the converter Richard. I sure love mine. That round Magnaflow looks too small to kill the drone, but I'm sure the sound is nice above 2000 rpms.

I am running a Quickflow on my truck and find i have more torque and better top end as well. Has a good quiet sound. But i don't have my converters gutted either. Check out the web site.... www.quickflowmufflers.com
