Default Parish8 Just checking in on my progress

Been a while since I last chated with ya!

My truck has been on hold for a while but I finally got back on it with James B. help.

Was wondering what you guys think I might run in the quarter mile after I get it running?! As you know before I was running 14.1 @95.5mph with the tired 350 with 3.73 gears at 8psi of boost...non intercooled. Was hoping for another 150HP with the new setup...not sure how much boost the Vortech V1-S-Trim can handle....but I doubt I will be able to get more than 7-8psi out of it...may upgrade to a T-trim!

New build up will have the following...

I upgraded the rear end to a 14 bolt 9.5" R&P with 4.10 gears running 33" tires....also went with the same in the front diff...got to love those 4HI runs!

Upgraded the TC. Had a stock 96 Vette 1.8 STR/2500, Now has a Art Carr 2.15 STR/2500-2800...also upgraded 4L60E for no PWM to match the converter....tranny is built past a 4L65E in specs!

Engine is a all forged 4340 with h-beam rods, SRP pistons 383 with 9 to 1 comp, cam is a Crower: http://www.crower.com/misc/cam_spec/...01LM&x=42&y=10
Running 1.5 Crane alum. rockers with ported vortec heads.

Running a 7.3L ford turbo diesel intercooler with a 90% eff ratio, Thorley heads with a 4" diesel exhaust system with less than 2psi back pressure.

Race weight with driver 5300lbs, 3 dr ext cab.

Oh, and nice mag article on your truck... Con-grats!

Unless they changed it drastically when they went to V1 status the original S-trim could handle about 14psi at max before you loose efficiency. If you wanted to keep things cool stay around 12psi or else go to the T-Trim.

I made 539rwhp on a basic 351W on 7psi from an S-Trim and had it built to run 14psi but never finished the project and sold it

Running the new spider injectors "without" the poppet valves...this will allow higher fuel pressure than the max of 80psi on the SFMU...also I am running a MF2 unit...(like a superfueler) with either two 55lb injectors or just one big one...I already have everything to install this...PCM was programed by Ed Wright for the old engine....I also have a MAFT+ which allows fine tunning of the fuel and timing.

BTW, James B. was running the same cam in his Tahoe and we checked in on the smog dyno and it was very close to stock readings on HC/CO/NOX

Well I've got about 500lbs more to pull that your ride and it sits up a bit higher with 33" and a 4.5 suspension lift....engine builder said new engine should be able to handle up to 700HP...Trans...maybe for a while...going to break it in NA.

Last two runs before the old engine broke off the crank snout...4HI runs like yours....hey you still running the stock rear end right...10 bolt? I rode in James B. after he installed the 4L80E what a nice shifting tranny!
