Default Parish, or anyone who knows!!?? Megasquirt Knowledge!

Check this scenario here, I want to have the magasquirt control meth for the turbo and fuel delivery for the n20. Is this doable through just the one megasquirt or is there other complications with that??? The race fuel and meth will be in their own stand alone tanks, and i want to make the megasquirt read off the MAF for AIT and then spray the meth when it reaches a certain temp. Also i want it to control the n20 setup to where if there is no fuel in the cell then there is no n20 able to be sprayed...is this possible?? Thanks

ahh, maybe....

i think you can do anything if you really want to. the mega has i think up to 8 outputs. you can program the outputs to come on or off for any sensor condition. you might have to use a couple of outputs to control one thing if you want a bunch of conditions to be met.

something like in IAT based output is easy. mega will supply a ground that you can use to control a relay. that output can be controled by IAT or any other sensor.

as for the nitrous, just keep the fuel tank full. you wont use much fuel at all so just fill it each time you swap out the bottle.

i dont know how well just turning on the meth will work. i think you want a map based progresive flow.

This guy, is that just for a higher post count aaaahhh nevermind, i dont wanna know... Anyway thanks bro, yeah i never thought about that aspect of it. So if I were to just set everything up manually instead of hooking it to the megasquirt ( meth kit by itself since it runs off IAT already, and nitrous on its own since the bottle will empty before the gas correct, also if i have a 24lb bottle and a 3gal tank is that still true?) Then i could use the megasquirt to turn on a electric fuel pump only when in lean conditions!!!??? Thanks again

you can use mega to turn on a 2nd fuel pump based on any number of conditions. lets say you want it to come on at 4psi or 2800rpm. anything that it has a sensor for you can control an output with.

i dont think you get how the mega setup works. it is something called "open source" the code is written by groups of people who do it just for fun and then they give it away. it is just a bunch of people helping each other. no one makes much if any money. there are guys who sell pregrouped boxes of parts but they dont make much money on them. then there are guys that sell complete premade megasquirts like my buddy scott. he might make $200 on each one but i bet he has quite a bit of time in it and then ends up answering questions on the phone and even fixing it if you somehow hook it up wrong and burn it up.

i am not 100% sure on the price of things. i think the parts are around $170 or $220 if you might need low z injectors. prebuilt units are $4xx.00 i think and a prebuilt harness is probably another $100 or so. add a couple of sensors and pig tails for those and you are probably looking at close to $600 if you just have it all sent to you or ~$300 if you gather all of it and assemble it yourself.

i am always looking for a way to get rich or even just make a few bucks selling something and didn't jump on the mega because people just sell the stuff for next to nothing. i can make $40/hr cash wiring someones basement on the side and these guys are working for like $10/hr. they just do it for the fun of it.

i think it is a bunch of guys just looking to screw the system. seems many of them hate any big business. they dont like AOL, they dont like microsoft, and they dont like paying $2000 for a stand alone if they can do it themselfs. then if they can get other people to not spend $2000 on a standalone it makes them even more happy. , thats might be why they sell so cheap and are prety helpfull.
