paging--sierra GT 4.8, and any other 4.8 5-Speed Owners.
I have a 2003 SCSB with a 4.8 and the 5-Speed tranny.
I was wondering what your times where, and what your mods are?? Just like to see what times others witht the 4.8 5-Speed have gotten....

it looks like most of the trucks here are autos, but your truck should respond in the same way as the others as far as mods go. how is the shifter on the trucks? does it shift sloppy?

You can add me to the list of 5spd owners.I haven't raced mine so I don't have a clue what it would run.I use mine as a truck to tow my trailer. The trailer weighs 6700lbs so it gives the 4.8 a workout.I have been very impressed with this little engine though. The mods I have are an intake,tb bypass, egr mod, catback,Programmer, and 4.10 gears. The gears were probably the best mod of them all.

By the looks of it, you and me are the only two with five speeds. My truck is kinda fast, I beat a 5.0 mustang one time and I can rip my girfriends solara sle 3.0 200hp. She stays close until I hit 95 and then she flies by me. I don't understand how all these people have fast times? Stock 5.3s are about running high 14s; how is this? AT my local dragstrip, some new camaros only run mid14s.I guess humidity has somthing to do with it. Oh yea when I ran my truck it was during the hottest part of summer. What mods do you have and have you thought about a hurst shifter, chip,or no2 I would like to run some no2 but whats happens if you miss a shift? If you cant find it grind it.

Its good to hear from you guys. My only mod on the truck is a Flowmaster 40 series. I have lots of plans, but i'm not in a rush, and most of my savings went into the downpayment.
I have some G-Tech times, but I dont list them because I dont consider it to be anything but a good guesser. I'll be hitting the track next season and getting some good stock numbers.
I run several races in an old airport that we use as a strip, so far ive beaten a 3rd Gen Z28 that had a 15.4 timeslip (and people to back up the time) I got him by about a truck, and ive beaten a Dakota Sport that had a 15.5 timeslip.
There is a huge difference between a street race and track times, but i'm hoping to see 15.3's with just the muffler. Who knows.
