Who did oyu talk to at DP Muffler? Was it Mark? They do good work but decide on what oyu want and take it to them. I told them what to order and how I wanted it installed and they did a good job. Use your lts, no cats, get a tune for the code and power, and a hooker aerochamber with teh y-setup.

Alright man. That what i was going to do and when i told him, he started knockin my setup and suggesting to scrap it and go with flows!! lol Im guessing it was Mark. Sounded like him but i thought he was more experienced than to tell me what he did. I know thay do great work for a fair price cause ive been to them probably 15 time with the different cars i have had and all the exhausts i have gone through. Ill just run the y-pipe. My truck is by no means going to be a race truck so any little gain id get from duals wouldnt really matter anyways. The y-pipe is easier and has good gains as well so im sure ill be happy with it.

Thanks for the help man!

By the way guys... I picked up the 3" in/out aerochamber from ap2002 a couple days ago so that will be the muffler ill be running!!

Now i just gotta find out where to get a nice y-pipe. I want the pacesetter y-pipe but without the crimp in the bottom. Anyone know where to find one like that?

In the end, if i do run a Radix or some other sort of F/I, would i be better to just change my exhaust to what i need when the time comes since im not sure how long it will take to save for the Radix?

you could get them to make you a 3" y pipe. i really dont think that crimp in the pacesetter Y hurts much. its not bending so the volume should still be the same. the part of the pacesetter Y that i dont like is where they meet together at a 90* angle. that part coulda been done differently IMO.

Yea, thats true. I wonder if it would be a good idea to just have them make me one and just buy the actual Y part of the pipe to have it welded in there. I dont know. Its so much easier to just order the pacesetter y-pipe that i may just do it that way and save the time and the hassle of trying to do it the other way.

This is the first time i have ever heard that shorties are better than LT's and that pacesetters are crap. lol Ive always been told that they are a nice set of headers and are the best bang for the buck! Then he continues to talk to me like im 5 years old and starts to explain that if i get rid of my cats, i will need to do something about the o2 sensors and blah blah blah. He asked what mufflers i would be running and i told him hooker aerochambers. He asked why i would want to use a crappy muffler like that cause it sounds like a tin can and that i should get a flowmaster or something because it is the best muffler and would sound so much deeper and better. Now, i have used this shop many times before and they have always been pretty cool and they do excellent work but im starting to change my mind about them after this last conversation. If i let him do my setup with what he had suggested, i would end up with shorty headers, stock y pipe with the cats cut off and a 2.5 dual setup to 2 chamber flows and turn downs.

You should have told him to !!! What a freakin' retard!!! Flowmasters ans shorties!?!?! Hooker being a "crappy muffler"!?!?! That is some of the dumbest $hit I've heard in a long time!!! Oh, and a Hypertech PP3 will be better than a tune!

HAHAHAHAHA!! Thats what i thought too. I had to let him finish though because it was humoring me too much to cut him off and tell him hes a dumbass.

Im actually considering putting the aerochamber on my girls truck and getting a couple spintechs for mine now and run duals. Ive always liked the duals setups on trucks but i will keep the x-pipe. Im assuming the x-pipe will do the same as the y-pipe considering the exhaust pulses will still be joining together in the x chamber the same as they would in the y chamber. I have the room to put one in there so i think im going to do that.

Pacesetter LT's, 2.5" duals with magnaflow x-pipe and 2 spintech mufflers dumped.

Help guys!! I think i have A.D.H.D.!! Maybe i need to get on some medication or something! Trust me, its not fun being indecisive like this!

Default Thats my plans

My plans are to get my exhaust guy to cut the crimp out and weld a straight piece in. I dont trust those crimped pipes. Even tho the vol is still there, theres not much flow room. Ive got ps lts and y ordered from texas speed and perf and the guy said the y didnt have the crimp HE SAID!! Well see.

When he said "Shorties and Flowmasters" you should have asked him how big the Bass was on his belt buckle! LOL!! He was looking for the redneck exhaust tone, not performance.

Lol, yea i know! Surprised he didnt tell me no cats and no mufflers with 2" pipes all the way out to 5" tips! lol

Virgil: Well let me know if yours has the crimp or not. Either way, i think im going to run the spintech mufflers whether i buy 1 or 2 of them because they sound pretty damn mean and they are different than the usual flowmaster or magnaflow everyone runs.
