Can you tap the intake tube to accept the outside temp sensor and display the IAT's instead of the outside air temps? Friend of mine suggested this and thought I'd get some opinions. Would it work? He's going FI so I'm sure that intake temps are going to be important to him.
I don't have the mirror, but have thought about getting it and this would be a pretty cool mod IMO.

You might could splice the wires in the MAF to with the wires from the temp sensor. I think they are black and brown in the maf. Unless he's going with the RADIX, it will only give him the temps the MAF sees, usually not the hot side, so it wouldn't be worth it much.

I *REALLY* like this idea...
I had to pull my front end this weekend, and found the outside sensor under the passenger turn signal light.
It'd be quite easy to just relocated the sensor to the intake tube, as an additional one. They even sell the temp-sensitive-resistor down at radio shack for a couple of bucks... if you wanted to go that way...
In my '04, the IAT is in the MAF.

I have a IAT sensor mounted in the blockoff plug where egr would go if the truck had egr. I cut the wires from the MAF and ran them over to the new sensor. I never thought about using the mirror to monitor it, though-sounds interesting.
