GM should just take the new 7.0L and put in a rc/sb, slap a ss emblem on it, and put some kind of tranny in it that will hold (yall decide), and call it a day. My pennies.

True, true, but it comes back to the marketing idiots saying that putting the new 427 in the truck would take away Corvette buyers. Even if it did, they'd sure sell a hell of a lot of SS's though.

But if they did that, they'd have to offer it in a crewcab version so us married guys with kids could convince the wife that it's a good family vehicle.
