Default Ordered OBX LT headers

Newer to this site, but 1,000+ post veteran on silveradoss.com. I went ahead and ordered the OBX LT headers from ebay today to replace my pace setters. I'll let everyone know the outcome as I have a 2003 Silverado SS and not many have done it yet. Why am I switching? I want to go catless and this is the easiest way to basically do it with out hacking up the y-pipe I had made for my pacesetters with magnaflow cats...so...yes...the pace setters will be for sale once off of the truck.

I know I've been happy with my OBX headers so far. I've put about 3000 miles one the truck since I did the lq9 swap that necessitated them.

My only complaint would be the clamps they send to join the sections of the y-pipe suck. I'd recommend fitting it, and then welding it.

I don't have too many complaints about mine. I was not thrilled about having to beat the crap out of a primary to get it to fit past the front driveshaft. Also I decided against putting a nice dent in one of the passenger side primaries for frame clearance, which was a mistake cause it is so close to the frame that it rattles off of it sometimes. I stuck some header wrap between there and the frame for now to alleviate the noise. I may pull it off one of these days an make a dent to create clearance. You can (and I think you are suppose to) torque the crap out of those clamps to get them to seal good. Good luck with yours.

Get a die grinder to section your frame. I think they should include one with the headers.

Just doing an information update for you guys with OBx. I received mine as well with the box all ripped up and only two collector bolts and two nuts. The band clamps were there.

FYI, I noticed earleir in a thread that someone had to re-tap the collector threads to get a bolt to fit...

The size of the collector threads is rare, but not odd...it is M10x1.25 thread pitch. The most common are M10x1.0 fine and M10x1.5 coarse. I found the M10x1.25 in zinc coated and stainless at a local hardware store with matching nuts...

Quality looks great. I did a mock fit in my living room last night once I got all of the bolts/nuts/washers required. I plan to install them this coming weekend. I just need a 5 hour window to allow for the tough removal of my pace setters...the custom pipe clamps underneath are pretty rusty. The welds on the OBX look much better than expected and I think they look great. I'm looking forward to having stainless steel in the norther climates although the pace setters themselves held up pretty nicely, just the aluminized piping underneath doesnt look like it faired so well. I'll keep you updated.
