Of the two optima's whick would be better the 34/78 or the lesser 75/25? The 34/78 should fit right? Anyone using these?

fo a basic truck, you dont need anyhting upgraded from the stock specs.
Just get the optima that closely resembles the stock battery.

Say if you are running a lot of audio, a winch and off-road lights, or things of these sorts, I would say to upgrade to a bigger one with a bigger reserve and more cca.

I second that! I'll never buy another. Consumer Reports rated batteries last year and the Sears platimun series ranked best.................

i have an optima red top 34/78 which i bought brand new and has been going strong for 6+ years. due to a stereo system, i am planning on getting a brand new optima yellow top 34/78 which i should have bought to begin with. the 34/78 is the perfect fit for gm trucks. buying it used you never know how abused a battery has been but i am pleased with mine.
