Default Opinions on engine build

Wanting to go for some boost in my truck. Currently a Jeep Comanche with a cammed 5.3 and tremec TKX. I love it but I have the itch for a supercharger. I would like to build another motor for this as it will be a bit before I can buy everything I need and would like to drive the truck in the meantime.

My goal is 500 to 550 at the wheels. The TKX is limited to 600/600. So probably 500 at the wheels is the safer bet. I was thinking to do a 6.0 with 823 heads, a cam, and a LSA blower from boost district. I don't want to go turbo and I really don't have the engine bay space for a centrifugal with intercooler and piping. Im pretty sure I'll no problem reaching 500 on low (6 to 9 psi) boost and have it be super reliable and safe. This is a summer daily that I drive A LOT to work and on long trips.

Im going to try my best to not cut the hood so having the 6.0 and 823 heads will allow the blower to go on with no adapters.

Seem like a solid plan? Or should I go 4.8 or another 5.3? I like more torque than more HP so that's why I'm thinking 6.0. And I know these motors can withstand some high boost so would it be necessary to add pistons and rods for what I'm trying to make? Thanks.

Solid plan IMO

If you find a LQ9 or 04+ LQ4 it will have the beefier rods with full floating pins.
Avoid the 99-00 6.0 because of the oddball crankshaft length.

I was definitely thinking of staying with a lq4 for the lower compression. Did everything after 04 have gen4 rods or was it a transition period and it wasnt guaranteed?

I really wanted to go boost with the next engine on this truck. If I was staying N/A I would probably just leave the L33 I have currently in it.

I have a 2006 LQ4 from a cab and chassis that has the gen IV rotating.

That would be a question probably better asked over at the "tech" forum. I've seen a thread over there and IIRC 03 was a crap shoot with the gen4 rods. The casting date code is just below the bank 2 head on the block.

I found this engine from a 2005 Escalade (LQ9) with the date code K134 (November 13th 2004)
