Default Opinions on 370 build

Anyone want to throw out some cam specs for a solid street 370 build?

I figure around 10 to 1 compression with 317 heads and long tube headers. Nothing all that much. Just strong from idle to around 5200 or so.

I was thinking around 210 @ .050 with .530 to .550 lift. Not sure.

Want to keep the engine on 87 octane.

I've got a 218/224 @ .551/.551 114 lsa in my .040 over 6.0l.

It's plenty strong for me.

I don't think 87 will cut it.

It starts pulling REAL hard around 3k but I don't lock my converter until 4th @ 52mph.

My setup is in my sig. Tooley said it should be a solid setup on motor before the 200 shot. Hope this helps.

The LS heads are so good in stock form that you really want to rev it beyond 5200 RPM. As mentioned before you are not dealing with a standard small block chevy here...

Hell a tuned stock cam will often be revved to about 6k. If it were mine and it was a true torque build I would be looking at at least 6k RPM shift points.

216/220 112+3 with 550 lift. Id use GMPP LS9 springs.

I dont need any of that. Im not trying to out run stuff.

I already have .030 pistons that will give 10 to 1.

I just need to get cam that do what I want. Run the fuel that I want. I can try and get a tight quench and the right head gasket to bleed off the pressure and run 87 octane.

Thats all I need.

I'd recommend a BTR truck cam..... Stage 1 or 2 if you're keeping it mild.

This cam will give you what you want. My 222/226 on a 114 gave me a better 60' than my stock cam. Yours will only improve bottom end power even more...
