Default Opinion on used camshaft?

I know that I grew up in the old school days for flat tappet cams but on those motors, I would never use a camshaft from another engine. Of course they were cheap and even if you did, you had to replace the lifters.

I know that roller lifters do not wear themselves or camshafts like the old flat tappets and that they don't have to be replaced when doing a cam swap.

All of that said:

Is it 100% safe to buy and install a good low mile cam?

I've found a suitable cam and am just looking for some reassurance that it's OK to save $100 or so by going this way rather than buying a new one.

2300 miles. I found it online, so I can't inspect it personally. The guy assures me that there are no noticeable wear marks or visible scratches.
