Open elemnent worth it?

I'm the master of cheap quality speed I guess! hahaha. All the parts on my vehicles were either purchased good quality used or dirt cheap new. I look for the most performance for the least amount of funds.
Heck my WRX has <$1000 in mods and will pull a bolt on modified 99+ GT from a roll easily...
The Z has <$1000 also and while it isn't super fast it'll probably run a very high 15/low 16 with the larger 33" tires...
My F150 also runs low 16s/high 15s also after spending closer to $3500-3700 (MAF kit was $700!) and my AOD took a dump about 6 months after I got the truck (about $1700) then getting the Eaton+gears wasn't cheap but well worth it (about $750 all said and done). Stock these run very high 17 sec times or low 18 sec!
So I've come quite a ways knocking almost 2 sec off that truck with a motor that was rated at 185hp stock.
