Ok, something just doesn't sound right about these heavy duty alts. I've got a stock 105 amp alternator, ASP crank pulley, no overdrive alt pulley, and efans. Now at idle when the efans are kicking the voltage only drops down a little bit below 14 volts. The only thing I've done is raise the idle rpm 100rpm to help out.

I'm guessing these bigger alternators still only charge about like the stock one at idle. I'd like to see the ratings at a given idle rpm for the 105, 130 and 200 ampers. Maybe we could all measure them with a meter to see what they output at a given rpm?

i too just installed the 130 alt. from the ebay guy. it was a breeze to install but the belt was too short. BUT,,, since i have a whipple supercharger, it has an adjustable pully to manually tighten or loosen the belt. i was just able to move the pully over some to give me some more slack. piece of cake.
do they offer any kind of warranty?

The 130A I am running now keeps me over 14V at idle with no problem...that's with stereo on, fans on, headlights on, etc. The idle amperage gain must be substacial (sp? it is too late) to keep me over 14V at idle. I figure my fans pull 22-30A at full blast. BUT I still use the stock crank pulley too.

If I had an amperage meter I'd take a reading. But from what I am seeing there is far more power available.

Oh yeah...that whine has seemed to subside considerably so go figure.

I have the asp pulleys, e-fans, and the same 130 amp alternator listed in the auction above. I tried the alt. with the stock pulley with a/c, lights, my small system, and fans and my voltage would drop about 2 ticks below the 14 mark. I put the asp over drive pulley on and I have yet to have it drop below the 14 mark. The asp overdrive pulley will work on these alternators at least it works on mine.
