Yeah I figured the overdrive would only help and so I don't have to buy a new belt , I went ahead and ordered the overdrive pulley.

Hey hitman, did you try putting the belt over the altenator, moving the tensioner and then putting it on the idler pulley? I was able to do it that way and well I am questioning if the altenator is a 130A or not. Didn't make a difference when I changed it and the belt went right on like the 105A.

The 130A is a larger (physically) alternator than the 105A. It is noticable and considerable. I tried the stock belt for like 20 min and that thing is WAY too short. Trust me on this one...I tried to get around $22 for a belt but you can't.

I routed my belt over all the accessories and the tensioner last...the Goodyear belt is thicker than stock and was a bitch to get on too! I had the tensioner maxed down and it was a struggle getting the belt to get on that tensioner pulley maybe a 935 belt length instead of the 930 would be a bit easier.

I though I wan an "old hand" and belt swaps after going through 3 different sizes on my Blue Oval truck (stock, then pulley set, then pulley set and no air pump - PITA locating proper length!) but this tensioner design by GM makes me angry...it is just dumb that the tensioner pushes out instead of the down that I am used to. And how to get a wrench on the tensioner to adjust it. Maybe this guy does GM's design for stuff like that:

Sorry about my ramblings and hope some of that info shall help,
Eric

PS I need some of this after sleeping only 5 hrs last night.
