OK here is the scoop. I got my hands on a 6L from a friend at the dealer for $500. Yes nothing wrong I cannot fix
My thinking is this. I have a '00 C5 with a SIC ATI. Stock bottom end. What would you do? These are my thoughts. Tell me what would do the most good or what looks to be good in your opinion.
1. Swap 6L into vette and forge bottom end, then drop the 5.7 into the Truck.
2. Swap the 5.3 for the 6.0. leave the the vette alone.
3. My fav, put the 6.0 in the truck witht he 5.7L heads from teh vette. Then put the 6.0L Heads in the vette and forge the 5.7.
Now will the 5.7 heads on a 6.0 unported do me any good on the truck? I playing with the ideas. Gonna been next winters project so I am wanting to start planning. What do you all think?
FYI The block is a long block out of a 03

The porting on the 6.0 heads will probably outflow the 5.7 heads it similar to the porting on an LS6,but the combustion chambers on the 6,0 heads are 71cc versus 66.7cc for the LS1 head so you'd lose about a 1/2pt of compression.I don't think that the stock 6.0 would show a horsepower gain on the 5.7 unless you plan on going with forced induction. Then you would have to raise the boost enough to offset the loss of compression.

also dont forget that the ls1 is all aluminum and dumping all that weight of the iron 6.0 into the vette would mess up its very good weight balance and screw with the handling.

This is a good plan.
Buy my Lq9 I have for sale for your truck and, well, I don't care about the rest.
