Default oil Pressure

What is your oil pressure registering at on your cluster? Mines at idle 35-but never seems to go past 60 even redlined. Apparently ive got the other filter from ACDelco PF46 vs. 42 or the other way around (ive got the larger filter) Is this normal?

What Oil Are You Using???

Mine Will Just About Peg 80 Psi At Redline... But My Motor May Be A Little Fresher Than Yours... Not To Mention If Your Using A Lightweight Oil You Can Sacrifice Some Pressure.

It Will Peg 80 Easily When Cold... But Once Warm It Will Pretty Much Hit 80

Yours sounds like it's probably ok, as long as pressure increases with RPM I think you're fine.

+1 MOST IMPORTANT THING IS YOU HAVE I BELIEVE ABOUT 7PSI PER 1K RPM... THAT WAS A BASELINE I LEARNED FROM AN ENGINE BUILDER I USED TO WORK WITH

Seems like different trucks see between 30ish to 40ish at idle with the factory gauge, and anywhere from 60 to pegged at 80 WOT. My oil pressure is just above 40 at idle (650rpm), and will peg the needle at 80 WOT. I used to use Mobil1 10w-30 and an ACDelco PF-59 filter, but just switched to Amsoil 5w-30 and a Mobil1 oil filter when I did my last LOF. The oil pressure (according to the factory gauge pretty much stayed the same either way).

Mine's above 40psi at idle and will peg 80 at WOT w/129k lol. My 04 tahoe used to run at around 32-37psi and would get close to 80 at WOT.
