Default Oil Pressure

My oil pressure flucutates at idle. It fluctuates by about 5 psi.

Is this a sign that my oil pump is about to go out??

You can try to install a remote gauge first as the oil sensor is rather hard to get to ( back of the engine, needs special tool ).
My guess is sensor tho.

Are you cammed or anything?
Somtimes if your motor is surging a little, it will cause some movement.

5 psi is not that much. Are you running the A/C when you notice this, or does it do it with all the accesories off. What are your normal readings at highway and city speeds and where does it run between at idle....hot, cold etc....

on my 95 camaro my headers were nice enough to melt the oil sending unit sensor or whatever it is and caused a problem like this but i think i remember it being a lot more than 5psi difference. im pretty sure it was all over the place. do the trucks have the same kind of unit????????

Since my cam install mine fluctuates at idle too. I have always used 10/40 oil in it too, but now that i'm up in the cold i tried some 10/30 and it idles around 25-30psi. With 10/40 it idles at 40psi and fluctuates less.

Maybe bad oil?
