Oil leak

Default Oil leak

So my pan is leaking pretty bad is this common or am I just lucky?

Far more common on early LS motors for sure, 99-03 is a ball park of the most I have seen working in a shop. Many of the eary 07-08 NNBS trucks were the same way.

Between the pan gasket and the rear main seal, those are the most common leaks.

Well at least Im not alone then lol Thanks FFDP. I got even lucker i get to replace all my o2 sensors now as well

I just did my 2002 SCSB last weekend. You have to drop the cross member and the steering rack (but you don't have to disconnect it from the steering shaft). Just hope your rear main isn't leaking.

Take care to not over-torque the bolts when putting on a new pan or replacing the gasket. My shop did this and it caused a hairline fracture that caused more than necessary hours under my truck trying to figure out where the leak was coming from. Problem was, you couldn't see the crack unless under torque. Good luck...
