oil filter probs PF59 or PF61???

Mine came with the PF59 from the factory...when I run out of stock (think I have 1 left), I'm gonna use the UPF replacement (whether it be 46 or whatever).

Even K&N oil filter reference guide shows a part# for a long oil filter for the 99-02' LS1 engines and a part# for a short filter for the 03'-07' LS1 engines.
There must be a reason for even aftermarket oil filter manufacturers to follow this change.
I'll stick with the short filter. It's what GM recommends for mine.

Because people want what came on the truck. I sold a guy a PF61 once without looking it up for his Avy. He came bak bitchin about I didn't look it up, just grabbed one off the shelf and it wasn't the right one. THe fact that it fits EVERY gen3 engine out there is irrelevant at this point, it wasn't the 'right' one.

I don't have a reason for the switch.

Napa carries WIX filters in a NAPA box. Napa number would be 1522.

O'Reallys is the only big chain that I know of that carroies WIX, but we do too. We're just not national.
