PCV system, pull your air intake off and open the throtle body you will see where your oil is going.

Yep i say PCV system too.. my truck use to burn about a qt every 1k, i changed the PCV valve and now it burns about 3/4 qt over 3,500 miles.. still burns it but its a heck of alot better.. You may want to look into a catch can or just completely getting rid of the PCV system.. i want to get rid of mine but im gonna wait until i do my 6.0 swap, and im still not 100% sure how to get rid of the PCV system and properly vent the block without causing any kindof unmetered air throwing off my tune or A/F ratio.

Thanks... I wouldn't mind doing away with it altogether since there are no emission standards where I am now. Wouldn't know where to start though, guess I will search it here and then see what I can come up with. catch can would be alot easier I guess... I'll change the valve itself first ....

pull the pcv hose off the top of the intake, cap of the nipple on the intake, and put a filter on the hose from the pcv. remove the line that goes from the passenger side valve cover to the throttle body, and cap off both. put a breather on your oil fill cap, your done. Or you could forget the breathers and run lines from the pcv and passenger side valve cover to a catch can, to the intake, with a cap on the throttle body nipple and no breather on the oil fill cap.
