Man thiems, your everywhere aren't ya? How much $$$ you got into your truck $30-$40K for the truck then all the mods maybe $50K? I bought my truck for $1500 and have put maybe $1000 into it. so there's $2500. If I put $20,000 in it right now, I would be in the high 11's or faster and still be under $30K.

Not knocking the new stuff, If I could afford one up front I would have bought one too. Realistically 11's is not practical for a daily driver which sees some long road trips. If I can spend $10K right now I'll run low 13's and I think thats where I'm headed!

I cracked my current block, so I'm in process of having a 383 TBI built maybe 385 flywheel hp and 450 ft.lbs. with a 125 shot should put me in the 13's before the first of September.

Engine $2500
NOS System $0 (already have it)
New Moser 12 Bolt with 4.10:1 $1500
Ladder Bar rear suspension $500
Slicks and light weight rims $1000
Truck Total as is $3000
Better fuel system $300
Stall Converter $200

Total $9,000 to run 13's

You run high 12's right?

Don't know. Cam is really too big and couldn't ever get the tuning right via mail order and emails. It was just a project to see if it would work and I didn't want to spend the money on the tuning hardware. It being a 5 speed has the old 8 bit computer is the problem. Computer is too slow to process the info as it changes. It does well until 25% throttle or so then it falls on its face. The injectors are 90lb and having to run 19psi on them to get enough fuel for the engine and they don't act right with that much pressure.
I'll be building a near stock 350 soon rather than a cam swap on the 383 and starting over.

Mine is just a junkyard 1996 vortech with stock heads. I have an internally balanced (make sure you do that dont go with the externally balanced) 383 with a mid sized cam nothing wild with upgraded springs. I ditched the Throttle body injection and went the carb rout. I have a set of headers and a built 700r4 (if I had it all to do over I would go with a th350) I am running 4:10's and an eaton unit. To get my best time I am spraying a 100 shot with a 2800 stall.
