Default Not much money.

I have no job. I can save up 200 dollars if I hoard it for a month. I need some perfomance for cheap. and I can't let my dad notice. He won't even let me get a cold air intake. Would High performance oil help? I know Octane booster helps slightly. I have a K&N rectangular filter. He want let me have a round one. I need help bad!

NITROUS!

I had the same problem with my father when I was in high school. I had a 1994 5.0L Cobra and mounted a dry NOS system in the fender well and plumbed it through the air silencer and into the air box. It then ran through the front of the filter "cone". The line was hidden through the fender to the fire wall where it ran under the carpet beside the plastic door "threshold". It then ran under the passenger seat and into the rear floorboard where I hid it into a gym bag. One "hot" (+) wire ran the length of the nitrous line to actuate the solenoids, power came from a cigarette lighter plug I bought at O'reilly's and was switched using a push button I got from Radio Shack. I am sure you could rig up something like that. Lucky for me my father chilled out after we bought the next 1996 4.6L Mystic Cobra Senior year and I was able mod it a little.

*note* I stole this idea from compucar's "nitrous in a bag" system.

i would go for a waitforme tune since your on a major shortage of cash. that will be your best bang for buck mod... get a 3" circle saw and saw a hole in the bottom of your factory airbox. saw it all the way through the piece of plate below the airbox. if you dont think he will notice cut the ******* off of your intake tube.

for 50$ you can get a 160* thermostat that he probably wouldnt notice. for less than $5 you can do the throttlebody bypass mod. then you can also do the halfshaft and bumpstop mod to the throttle body for free and he wont notice.

later you can save your money for an electric cutout. open it up and have free flowing exhaust when dad aint around, then close it up when you pull into the neighborhood for that factory exhaust sound.

those are the only cheap mods that are un-noticable that i can think of. some may tell you to remove the screen from the Mass airflow sensor for free. DONT DO IT!!! your maf is very sensitive and that screen is there for a reason!

A tune will be your best bet. If its still stock (witch it sounds like it is) Id get one from wait4me. They are $157.70 if you keep your stock PCM, and the ole man will never be the wiser. Just tell him you got a hold of some "special" gas . Or see if he will let you install one of those "economy cams" thats what I told my wife when I put my first one in.
