Noob with a question or 2....

My 2500HD 6.0 4x4 extended cab smokes my buddies 1500HD 6.0 4x4 crew like its a chevy luv. All I have done is HPP3. He has done HPP3 K&N Gen2 and B&B exhaust. I want to go exhaust but don't know whats the best choice. I want better sound and more power but not to much noise. His B&B sounds about perfect but I am wondering as his truck drives like its got a anchor out. Anyway I am getting the new gas tank put in next week then its time to tune. Cost is not so much the issue but I don't need to hit the 14's either as its a daily driver (12k in 4 months).
Thanks all in advance.

any idea what each of you have for gears? that is about the only thing you should have in your favor, what do you mean by smoke him, from the hole? from a roll? no matter what?
if i had it to do again i would start with headers and exhaust and a 150shot, then later if you wanted more look at heads and cam.

i just got a set of arizona speed and marine headers, they are suposta be the best and they are beautiful looking. you have make sure that whatever headers you get will fit on your truck, seems like i read about the new 6.0 having 4cats and longtubes not working. it seems like the rest of your exhaust is prety big maybe just a muffler to finish it off, i am sure others will chime in with their ideas.
oh yea, a converter makes a huge diference and isn't all that expensive, goto the yank web site and check out the truck stuff, i would definately start with the converter first before exhaust even.
so my $.02, first converter, then headers and some kind of exhaust(muffler?) this stuff is good for everyone, then we would need to know more like budget and how fast you want to go.

Supposedly, Magnaflow has a system for 6.0 trucks that is the shiznit, but I have never heard or seen it, and I don't believe everything that I read in magazines. Here's the Truckin' article:

Damn, your buddy's truck must be a dog. My truck is slow, but it doesn't feel like it is pulling an anchor. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

What year are the trucks? If his is a 99 and yours is a 00-02, that might be the reason. I am not sure on the weight differences between the two trucks, but they should be close to the same weight all options considered.
