Default Wrapped vs coated

So do coated headers reduce underhood temps better than wrapped ones?

I would go ceramic coated over header wrap any day, I dont know of a heder manufacturer that will waranty their headers if they have been wrapped.

Cermaic coatings will not only reduce underghood temps. it will reflect the heat back into the exhaust, I dont think the header wrap will, keeping the heat in the exhaust will keep exhaust velocity up and this will help with the scavenging type of supercharging. if mild steel headers are wraped(uncoated) I think the air in and around the header tape will be heated, there is more heat trapped next to the header with the wrap.
header wrap hold mositure right against the header and will rust them out quickly. Great for race engines, bad for the street.

I just ordered mine yesterday, I was considering getting the non coated ones too, but broke down and got the ceramic coated. Think about this. You buy th enon coated, put them on, get money to have them coated, pull them back off, put the manifolds back on, pay to ship the LT's and Y pipe to get them coated, pay for coating, get them back (look at 01slowZ71's, he wasnt happy with the quality of the coating, but hes **** anyway ) then put them back on.

Arent the coated ones only $100 more? I think 01slowZ paid more than that to have his caoted originally, then you have shipping (mine was $35 to get them to me) X 2 to get there and back and down time. IMO just wait till you have another $100 and be done with it.
