I have a 2003 chevy silverado originally with 5.3 but swapped to 6.0 with heads, cam, intake, and exhaust. Problem im having now is when engine gets hot say at the race track or driving to town, when i shut engine off and need to crank it back up within a few minutes I get nothing. No clicking noise, no trying to start, nothing. Let truck for about 30 mins and itll fire right up. Changed starter and battery and wrapped starter in a starter blanket but its still happening. Any ideas?

Especially the ones at the back of the block.

I repaired a truck that had one broken and it caused the same condition. No click at starter.

ill check this evening. If grounds appear to be good any other ideas? ive been meaning to crawl under it when it happens to see if starter is getting power, but never have my test light with me when it happens.

I had this problem a couple years ago and ended up being the starter.
I would have to wait a half hour sometimes for it to start again.

Most times at the shop when I see a no start after engine hot it's usually the starter if it doesn't crank and usually crank sensor if it cranks and doesn't fire.

You need to grab a test light and see if you're getting signal to the starter to start with and go from there. or wire in a little light up on the dash and see if it comes on every time you try to crank it. If the light lights up and the started doesn't turn then it's the starter. If you get no light when you try to start then you know it's something else, the something else would likely be the starter relay.

Try swapping the starter relay with another relay in the fuse box of the same size and see what happens there too.
