Default how hot is too hot

alright so today it was like 98 and i was cruising form light to light and i never made it to lock up. fluid temps after the stock tranny cooler, before the aftermarket cooler, was 195-200*... i am pretty sure im going to invest in a heavy duty permacool cooler as opposed to my thinline 23000GVW cooler that i have at the moment. so were those temps too hot? im sure they were fairly cooler after the aftermarket cooler but about that hot coming out of the trans. does anyone have that chart of transmission fluid/gasket break down as a function of heat?

According to the gauge on my SS cluster (and HP logged) my tempsdont go over 160*, even in 106* weather, like yesterday.
I am running a 3000rpm stall and a large B&M cooler with electric fans on all time. Stock t-stat.

ok well i have a fairly small cooler i think and my stalls looser than yours but i guess i pretty much need a bigger cooler
edit: before getting retuned for my stall and having my lock up points raised and stuff i used to sit at about 170 but that was in may when it was a little cooler

Your engine oil & trans oil should get hot every now and then to burn off condensation, thats one of the reasons it comes with such a hot T-stat. The Oil has to get up to 212* for that to happen. I blew a fuse(Fkn VSC) a few weeks ago while pulling my boat through some hilly terrain, and the coolant temp was 235*+, all I could do was speed up to get air going through the Rad. Didn't have a spare with me, Used some christmas light wire I was taking to the dump, Jumped the fuse holder, left the truck running while I was un hooking the boat, Hood Up, came around front to check the temp and the friggin wire was on fire, Didn't have anything to pull out a flaming wire, so I used a bic lighter, LOL.(Now)

the trans temp is supposed to get over 212? if coolant gets over 212 doesnt the 50% water just start to escape? regardless though, i have been lookin for the chart mosted on here probably in april or something with trans temp vs factors of internal break down. for example, what temp do the gaskets start to break down and fail?
