no power steering

Default no power steering

i went out to the bonnies to look at some land my uncle wants to buy. on the way i got stuck in some really loose dirt. got stuck for a nice while.(dam one wheel peel) after i got out i lost my power steering. checked the fluid was low but very little, added some anyways no luck. what do u guys think happend?? im gunna try and take it to the dealer tomarrow during lunch. but wanna know if i can fix it myself at nite

Were there any signs of leakage? Could you see seepage on he pressure lines? If you have tried aftermarket "repair" fluids make sure you suck it out and put some GM stuff in. Would hate to have them refuse your warranty claim over $10 in fluids .. some dealerships are a-holes. Good Luck

Last winter, i got stuck in the snow and lost my power steering. The shaft snapped off inside the pump. Just take the belt off and see if you can pull the pulley and shaft out of the pump to see if yours did the same thing.

yea took it to the dealer and they said the shaft was broken and they replaced the power steering assembly. so why exactly did it brake?
