Here's a link to a previous post about putting an OEM Tahoe muffler and tailpipe on my Silverado.

The truck now has 200 miles on the new exhaust and I've had ZERO performance loss. I've done several 0-60 runs on the old stop watch and the times are the same. I had a Flowmaster 70 Series with dual 2.25" tailpipes before and now it's an OEM Tahoe muffler and 3" tailpipe. The truck feels like it has more low end and drives better around town. It's wierd not having an exhaust note to listen to but I don't miss the interior resonation at all.

Flowmasters on f-body's don't help at all. Some guys who keep stock pipes, and go with a flowmaster muffler actually lose Hp. If you go with their full 3" catback, then they help some.

if they suck, then are they sold and used on tons of cars. people with dragcars that use exhaust use them. hell they are probably the best selling muffler out there, why would someone buy one if it didnt perform better?

Flowmasters are like fram oil filters. Everybody buys them, but they ain't worth two cents... People should do a little research instead of listening to salesmen.

Most folks who take their vehicles down to the local muffler shop don't really know about performance. They like the sound.
I had a flomaster first and gained about 10% gas mileage over the stock muffler.
