Default No oil pressure!!

Ok, long story short, a guy traded motors and had it dissasembled/cleaned. He then put it back together with new bearings. Motor has no oil pressure. Brings it to me, i figure out he reused the oil pick up o ring and put a new one on. No dice. So i pull the filter and it shoots oil out, so oil is definatly getting that far.
It's not a bad oil pressure sensor, the sensor is bone dry.
So where does the oil go to after the filter? Anyone have a detailed schematic? I'm hoping there is an oil plug somewhere that got left out, cause i don't feel like pullin this motor out.
So far i have verified that the front oil plug (drivers side next to pump) is there and so is the oil diverter (barbell looking plug) is there too.
Any ideas?

oil is definitely getting to the filter, but not to the sensor.

are you sure its getting that far??? i would drill and tap the oil cooler block off and put a manual guage there... very easy to get to and very easy to do.. that will tell you for sure if its gettting past the filter.....

I believe that somewhere at the back of the block, there should be a plastic dumbell looking thing that acts to direct oil in 2 different directions, one of them being up to the valvetrain. I remember reading that this 5 dollar part can be mis-placed during an engine rebuild creating oil pressure problems and not allowing oil to go up top. I think that the rear cover has to be removed to access this item that I'm referring to. I tried to quickly search to find where I've read about this, but can't seem to come up with it at this time. Hopefully someone will know the part that I'm referring to and add some input...

I mentioned in my first post that it was in there.

From the looks of that schematic, if oil is getting to the filter, but not going up, then either the filter is plugged, or maybe it's housing is plugged, or something's wrong with that diverter that we mentioned? (where is the diverter located, above the oil filter?)

It's going up cause the lifter galleys were full of oil, just with not enough pressure to make it up to the sensor. Gonna throw a diff oil pump and filter on it to see what it does.

Figured out what was wrong. The one on the right is what was in the car. The one on the left is an extra i had laying around.
