The 224 is by no means comparable to the T-rex in a car. Some people say its big for a 5.3, but I have installed, and seen larger cams in the 5.3 and they run great. Something Id DD at least. As far as the converter, IMO stay away from TCI. I had one about a week or two before I ripped the guts up in it. I went with a Trail Blazer converter and it wasnt quite big enough (stalled to about 2700) so I ordered a Fuddle 3200. Not sure what happened, but I wound up with a 5500. Do you have any idea how fun 4wd launches are at 5500 RPM I didnt think it would perform too good in the mud though, so I got another (great customer service if you arent in a hurry) and love it. If I could catch traction I would be able to see a little better what it flashed to, but th ebest I can tell its between 3100 and 3400. I love it. Then the next day I blew my G80, so I havent been able to play too much (dont trust the front end, and 80 MPH burn outs are fun, but a little scarry )

Id say a TR224 or larger cam, 3200 converter will be nice together. Oh and something about the 3-4 clutches, Ive been through 7 trannys since sept, and the truck has set up at least 2 months since then too.
