Default New Tranny and TT3000 is in, ses code-Long.

Built Tranny and Torque Thruster 3000 stall is in. Runs awesome, Strong and short shifts, breaks the 20's loose with ease. Runs cool, fluid level is perfect and is by far the best mod I have done to change the way the truck performs. With the good is always the BAD.
Her'is the Bad;
Took the Truck for a drive, after 75 miles got an SES code. Reset the computer and it was fine for another 70-75 miles before popping up again while I was driving. Yes -I went for a 160 mile trip with varied driving before I romped on it. I don't have ATAP so basically I need to get it read or finally invest in it. The other problem is the shifter indicator is hesitent going from park to drive. I shift the lever from park to drive and there is a 2-3 second delay before light idicates drive? I checked all the connections on the tranny and each connector is clean and no pins are bent. Any advise would be greatly app.
I have; TT300 stall, super servos, 29 element sprag, kevlar band, new clutch pack, 13 vane pump,HD Sun gear shell, front and rear 5 pinion planetaries, Hardened input drum assemble and upgraded springs, boost vavle. HyP is shiffting at 5800 1-2, 3-4.

I had an issue once with the neutral safety switch. I could shift it to drive, the lights would scroll through D, 3, 2, 1 then go off. I knew I had it in D, but no light would show. Once I shifted back to Park, light came back. A side issue with this switch is that the wire harness gets hot and fuses to the module. It makes it near impossible to unplug the old one and replace it. GM has a bulletin that says to cut the wires and splice in a new connector instead of trying to work the factory connector.

It sounds similar to my issue. Mine happened after I had the truck infor service once and they worked on the transmission. Probably stretched out the wires trying to get the harness off. The switch is located on the drivers side of the transmission. Its on the shaft where the shifter cable connects. I guess its function is to read what gear tyhe cable puts the tranny in and display it on the dash among other things. If you had tranny work done, you have to mess with this item to get the tranny out.

I'm not suprised that the MIL came on 70 or so miles into every trip. The way a malfunction code is set unless its a "hard code" is you go through a drive cycle and once something is out of parameter or a seen a condition of being out of parameter so many times within 60second duration possibly. The drive cycle is basically driving conditions that will allow the modules to run the 8 monitors. Once a malfunction code is seen twice in two drive cycles the SES or MIL will be illuminated. I don't get why people go to the trouble of resetting the computer, autozone will show you the MIL # maybe some freeze frame data from when the MIL was set too.

FullFloat,
, Why do think I'm on this forum, I ask questions when I'm confused. I'm like the only one doing this in a 100 mile radius and not blessed with anyone with the same desire or knowledge to trick out a Ls1 based Truck. I should have Atap, I should no how to use Ls1 edit because ther're not many Garages who are good with tuning or all the sensors on these Trucks. I have gotten codes before after exhaust mods, etc and reset the computer, wich takes all of about 6 min to help it adjust. As for Auto zone unfortuanetly they don't offer that service in my area.

I had no flame intended, just that instead of erasing the code you can find out what it is for your advantage.
