Default New setup, need eveyones help

I have a 2000 silverado that has cold air, tbs, and 3 inch single exhaust. I just put in a 04 ls6 cam in my truck and am going to have it custom tuned using ls1 edit taking all the TM off my truck. What other things do u guys suggest i do and i was aslo wondering if you guys think i should adjust my rev limiter a little bit higher with this cam? I was also wondering what kind of gains you think i will have and how much it should improve my times, I ran a 15.4 before the cam or tune. All suggestions are needed thanks a lot

My guess is a 15.1 or 15.2. Those cams arent all that great imo.

I heard the best LS6 cam was the 01! But you should dip to the low 15's! I think you should be runin pretty good with the tune!

I'm assuming you have a decent sized stall already? If not you're going to be very disapointed in that cam.

I would put the rev limiter up around 6500rpm if you have replaced the springs as well. This will allow you to shift near 6000-6300rpm which is where your max power should be and will help you hold 1st and 2nd gear longer so you get more usable gear ratio. In trucks with tall tires it is entirely possible for you to run the whole 1/4mile without going into 3rd gear. This is what got me my best times in my Z71 with 31" tires and 3.73 gears.

AGREE IF NO STALL YOU WILL LOSE 60' BAD.PUT A PTC 3000 THEN U WOULD SEE A BIG DIFFERENCE.A TRAILBLAZER CONVERTER IS NOT ENOUGH FOR THAT CAM.
WELL THE CAM WILL HURT U AND THE TUNE WILL HELP SO I'D SAY 15.TEENS
THE 01 ZO6 CAM IS BETTER

I dont have ne idea on how u guys think that i would only run in the low 15teens when i was running a 15.4 before on a 90 degree day with a headwind at that. I drove the truck with the cam in it before it was even tuned and i no it had just as much if not more low end than before and it pulls a lot harder than it did befoe up from 4-6 rpms. I personally think that i should run high 13teens to low 14teens with this new cam and tune plus i am going to rev it to atleast 6300 because now it makes power up there. its a custom tune where the guy actually has my truck and there will be no more torque management on it. Do you guys think i am expecting too much?

If youre expecting 13's yes. I would think high 14's maybe. That cam is a higher reving cam, so your powerband should be higher. If not, then you can expect about .5 better times, but the tune will be most of it. Good luck though

I got my truck back tonight from being custom tuned by jim buckmaster in madison wisconsin and its the same if not better below 3500 rpm but man when it hits 3500 rpm that thing kicks itself in the *** hard! Now reving 6500 Rpm i do over 50mph in first and lunge to second with no ******* at all really, and then pulls very hard all the way to the end of second at 97-98mph. I am very pleased with the 02-04 Ls6 cam and my tune but i know if i had a stall that was about 2600-3000 I would gurantee high 13teens if not better. My race weight is a little over 4700 pounds. Its a pretty tough runnin little 5.3
