Has anyone tried the new Mobil 1 extended life oils? It seems weird how they are chaeper than the regular Mobil 1. Do you think they work as well?

 

i put the 5000 in my wifes tb. but that was on monday so i don't know how well it is gonna do till i change it again. it was only a buck fifty on sale at wally world. so i decided to try it.

 

I work in the oil industry so to speak, i read an article on the new Mobil oil's, it said that the 5000 mile oil is a conventional based oil, the 7500 mile oil is a semi-synthetic based oil, and the 15000 mile is a synthetic based oil.

 

if the 5000 is conventional based that would explain the price. i think i am gonna go back to regular m1 as soon as this oil has been used up.

 

it appears that it is conventional on the 5,000 - I was looking at them last night at Wal-Mart side by side, there is no mention of synthetics on the 5,000 mile oil.

 

yeah the 5000 is just a plain jane oil like other non synthetics.. I was about to pick up some then i saw where it wasnt synthetic.

now i know why the old mobile one is oly 19bucks now and not 23.. cause the new 15000 one is 23 at wallyworld
