Default New Guy w/ lots of questions

I'm the new guy, so I have lots of questions...hope u can help me out. I have a 2003 Z71 4.8 with Flowmasters, Edlebrock shorty headers, Volant Intake, Power Programmer, and a Functional Ram Air Hood. What should I do next??

-I was thinking putting a cam in, but I don't know what specs to get, or even which one to get

-I found a MassAir Sensor w/ Cold Air Tuning for $269, do you think it will be worth the money? They say 10-15 rwhp, but should I trust it? Any ideas?

Open to anything that will make it a little faster

cam or stall. the cam would be more benifitial with a custom tune.

scratch the mass air.

Welcome to the party n00b!

Yeah, stock MAF's are fine. Spend that money elsewhere. If you're only running a handheld programmer, there's a lot more to be had with a custom tune. I'd do that next for sure.

After that, a mild cam will be very nice gains. A good quality stall helps big time from the hole. Full length headers too over the shorty ones.

What kind of gears do you have? Maybe if you have high (numerically low) gears, you could swap them for something like 4.10's. But as the others stated:
1. Keep your MAS...leave it alone
2. Custom tune (wester's, nelson's, pcm 4 less, etc.)
3. Stall conv.
4. Cam
If you want to do the cam, I would recomend just doing a custom tune at the same time. Good luck!

Default tuning

How much is a Nelson tune? My best friend has an 03 sierra w/cam and Ed Wright Tuning. I'm picking up my new 04 silverado Tuesday and wanted to know the best route to go on tuning?? I believe his tuning cost him $450 plus shipping.

driven tunes are the best so if you're located near any of the shops offering custom tunes that would be the way to go. Other then that the top 2 tuners seem to be Nelson's (www.nelsonperformance.com) and Wester's (http://westers_garage.eidnet.org/). both offer great results, choose the one that fits your needs

Tbryne has a deal for 10% off of Wester's right now
