Default anyone pull the AC? how much weight are we talking about?

looks like the compresor, that shiny can under the hood, the heat exchanger up front, all the lines and the bracket on the side of the motor. anyone want to toss out a guess as to how much all of that weighs?

i am pulling all(well almost) all the stops for my trip to the track next weekend, the truck is quickly turning into a weekend racer more than a daily driver.

oh yea, geting rid of that ac can by the downpipe might give me room for a 3.5" or 4" downpipe

I pulled the heat exchanger after I popped a hole in it. It weighed about 10 lbs. I'd guess 30-40 lbs for all of it.

if its going to be a weekend racer, turn the heat exchanger into an oil cooler. It would add about 2 quarts of total oil, and keep temps and wear down.

Have you already pulled the passenger seat and console? The spare and whench? Im sure youve already done all this, cuz you da man. I guess you're going for it again next weekend. What gaskets did you get, and did you over torque the heads any?

Just pull the bed off.

My truck came with no air and there sure is alot of room with out it.

How about the upper fender braces, The ones up by the hood in the engine compartment. I think there only for collision support and don't offer any rigidity but I may be wrong.

i am going for it again next weekend. not exactly sure what all i am going to do though, i have a few ideas. i put in stock MLS gaskets and went 15ft/lbs over .

pull the council
pull the rear bumper
pull off the entire exhaust(stock muffler and tail pipe)
drain the washer fluid
pull the A/C ?
maybe a bracket here and there
empty the change out of the doors

including the air i can see 150+lb's, what am i forgeting?

then my launch isn't crazy hard, i think i can step up from the 75shot i am using to get me moving up to a 100 or maybe even a 125. i bet that gets me .1 on my 60' times, down into the low 1.6's

those 2 things alone plus the same boost i ran on the 11.43 run would probably get me an 11.2. probably need another 40+hp to see a 10.99. going to start a new thread on the safest way to get 40+hp.

What about the factory radio and speakers? I've got mine all in a wal-mart sack, minus the radio and they are prolly about 20 lbs all together.

I dunno .. I get the compressor and the bracket it's on is 35-40 pounds.

It's to hot in Memphis to do without AC on a daily driver.I had my TEA heads o-ringed after reading about your head gasket problems.TEA said to run graphite head gaskets with the o-ringed head,so I'm running early model 6.0 head gaskets from Felpro.

Parish, aside from droping weight to get the 10.99 why dont you try droping the boost to @12psi, using the 125 wet to get out of the hole, and a 35 dry the rest of the run? With just a 35 dry your AITs will drop, and get better cylinder presher. You already know your fuel system will support it. And correct me if im wrong, but at 12psi boost, and a cool 35 shot wouldnt that make about the same power as running 15-16psi.?

I like the over torqued head gasket idea. hahaha Lets see it lift up now.
