Default New exhaust again...

Well, i've decided to trash the flowmaster muffler and go for something that flows better, and is quieter. I'm between 3 companies, and havent decided which one to go with:

1. Magnaflow
2. Corsa
3. B&B Triflow

Any opinions on tone, volume, flow quality appreciated. BTW - - why the hell is the corsa system so damn expensive?! It was 700 something $$?!
Thanks.

Ben

I have only had experience with Magnaflow, Borla and Flowmaster. I am glad you trashed out Flowmaster. I say for the money, you can't go wrong with Magnaflow. I got my Magnaflow set up installed at a local muffler shop for $160.

After I finish saving up for my Radix S/C I'm going to get the Corsa mufflers when they start selling them individually, don't know when they will start but I'm willing to wait. They make our trucks sound like a damn f-body, I love that sound. Magnaflows sound really good also.

i have had two borla systems.....the rear exit on my 99 Sierra 1500 5.3L and i had the borla split side on my 02 Sierra 1500 5.3L. I sold the split side and put on the corsa system. I have no regrets. It sounds way better. Fit and finish is better. Cruising it is silent in the cab. It was worth the money to me.

I have the B&B Triflow on both my Tahoe and my C5. Love the tone on the vette but it is way louder than the flowmaster was on my Tahoe. I am actually considering putting the flowmaster or even stock back on. Investigating magnaflows before I go back though.

Maybe I am just getting too old.

Most of the high end systems are in the $600.-$700.+ range. They are constructed of high quality stainless steel and usually have some great looking (but expensive) tips. Corsa is known for their RSC technology that maximizes performance while eliminating interior resonance. This way you don't have to listen to the exhaust drone all of the time. It's quiet when you want it to be during regular driving and aggressive when it has to be at WOT throttle. B&B also makes a very nice system but it tends to be a little more aggressive sounding than the Corsa but you still don't get much (if any) resonance). Magnaflow systems can go either way. Some people have told me that theirs was a little on the loud side while others have said that their system was quiet.

In the end it comes down to personal preference for looks, sound and or course $.

Bang for the buck Magnaflow is the best. Sound is good, and I noticed big gains over the flowmaster I had on before.

I like the tameness of borla proXS mufflers, when you go WOT, they arnt so tame anymore.

but I have asms, no cats, x-pipe, ...so i love the way it sounds. perfect combo
