Default new ET!!!

i am prety fired up right now.let me lay down the senaro before i give the time.

stock shift points, 5200rpm, not sure if this is hurting me or not.
bone stock 5.3 tuning
14deg of timing but 8 full deg of KR the whole run so only 6deg of timing total
55deg
1/2 tank of gas
full weight LT, trailer hitch, spare tire all still there.
in auto 4wd with signifacant wheel slip
6psi, actualy heard a little pinging right at the end of the second run

13.59 and then turned right around and ran a 13.68 in the oposite direction. i am prety happy with those times for now but it still feels slow. looks like i need to get a wide band and adjust my fuel then see if i can get a little more timing.

seems to me a little tuning and drop 200lbs(gate, spare, jack, back seat,) i might be knocking on the door to 12's

Glad to see your up and running. With a little tuning I can't see why you won't see 12's.

That's awesome!!

That timing/KR problem is killing you though. There is ALOT of potential in those lost 8 degrees.

Did you ever run any 100+ octane to see if your knock went away? I just don't understand why 6psi in 55 degree weather is causing that much knock, especially with only 14 degrees of timing. I'd be very careful about it. I wonder if its load/heat induced.(kinda like driving uphill in the middle of summer at half throttle) Your truck does weigh close to ~5500? lbs. which is alot of weight to be hauln.

Anyway congrats on the 13 sec. run, 12's aren't too far away.

the knock is real, i could hear it on the 2nd run. i have my knock sensor desensatized 30% and it still goes strait to the max 8deg and stays there. i don't plan on making any more runs until i get that under control. i believe i have some false knock and some real knock. i think i have the false knock under control and now any knock i see on atap is probably real.

i agree 6psi and 55deg temps should not be knocking, i am runing 92 gas. i have 2 theorys, air fuel ratio is way off causing it to knock. or there is some kind of problem in the combustion chamber. i got the engine with 4,000 mile on it but it had been hydro locked, it had a bent rod that was replaced before i got it. the guy i got it from may have done something wrong like used a 5.7 head gasket.

Nice to hear that thing is getting faster. Did you ever think about water injection? Lots of guys running them with sucess. Maybe that would help your KR?

Did you make it to the track? Are these G-tech times?

Does the 1/4 mile track near you close for the winter? Down here, the track work on a very limited schedule.

gtech of course, i have alot of confidence in that unit, at the track it was never more that .05 off. they stoped running their friday night thing where anyone can run and i am prety sure they are done for the season for all kinds of racing but i am not sure.

i keep changing my mind about water injection, one day i am thinking yea, why not try and get another couple of lb's of boost then the next day i am thinking more tuning and i should just hit it with a 50shot. i shouldn't be having a problem at 55deg so i need to figure that out first.
