Hey guys, my cousin has an 07 nbsb 4x4 with a 5.3 that burns oil already so he wants to replace it. This truck is a daily driver but he wants to be able to beat his wifes zl1. What set up do you guys recommend? He also doenst mind adding a turbo setup. Need help asap as he wants to get it done soon.

What's his budget? Gonna need a strong trans also among other things.

 

Find a complete LS1 pull out, drop it in and call it done.

 

That won't beat a ZL1.

 

Agreed, ZL1's are putting 500hp to the wheels, thats going to be a handful for a truck

 

The budget is not a problem. As for trans i have a 6l90e with transfer case lying at the shop if that will work. Any ideas would be great..

 

Why build something to beat something else? Have a target ET in mind and build it for that target. Because say he does outrun the ZL1, a set of tires pulley swap ported blower snout and a tune and she will drop a full second from her 1/4 times.

Well that truck will never hit a race track and i doubt he will mod the zl1 for her ...
