I finally got the 6.0 back together and in the truck on Friday. I took it to TEA in Bowling Green, Ky for some dyno tuning because I didn't want to blow it up again on an unsafe tune. Anyways, Brent at TEA did an awesome job with the tune and I ended up driving away with 404 horsepower and 502 ft lbs at the wheels. It looks like I may have reached the airflow limit of the Whipple because the horsepower graph doesn't ever climb it more or less just flat lines from 3000rpm to 6000 rpm. I can't wait to get some track numbers! I am hoping to see some low 12's. As a side note, I killed a LS1 Z on the highway on the way home from the dyno. Needless to say I am felling pretty good about right now.

Ranwalk-No, its not stock anymore. This is a built 6 liter with stock displacement running a 2002 LS6 cam and a set of TEA stage 2 5.7 heads. I made 383 horse and 430 ft lbs when it was a stock LQ4 and that was without headers. Now the motor wants more air than the Whipple can pump. I am running 8 psi.

Hey L-eater can I get my truck dyno tuned at TEA. Just wondering because I would like to have mine dyno tuned but didn't know they could do it. I live about 2 hours from Bowling Green so that would be no problem for me.

You picked up 21 HP with stage 2 heads and a cam and long tube headers?Did the stock 6.0 have a custom tune? The TQ gain sure looks good. Were you expecting more HP gain?

01 5.3-I'm sorry, I wasn't thinking. TEA doesn't have LS1 edit for trucks-they had to use mine so if you have edit you are good to go otherwise they won't be able to tune you up.
Gonzo-yeah, 21hp with cam, heads, injectors, torque conv, exhaust work, tuning, new tranny, new posi, etc. I know it doesn't sound impressive-I have spent an assload of money in the last year but at 383/430 it ran 13.3 and with the headers, converter and injectors it went 12.6 I am expecting 12.2 in present trim so yeah only 21 hp but over a second improvement in the 1/4 mile. Yes I was hoping for around 450 hp but the bottom line is how it performs so hopefully we will find that out this Thurs.

You had it running strong after the injectors, headers, converter. What did you do to blow it up?If every thing is right about your new motor,i will say it could be tight and with some miles on it it could pull more like what you are expecting.Yep motors tight.
