The 2 dyno runs compared are from before/after cam swap only!
It sounds as if there was no tuning, but I'd guess they did. Bumping the timing up and correcting the a/f ratio only make numbers better. Plus its a fair comparison having everything in line.

i still call on this. there's no way with the stock rev-limit and stock shift points this cam is going to be worth a damn. even the one they dyno'd didn't have stock programming. (look at the rev limiter).

I'm confused.

Where did they say its on the stock tune?

I thought they just claimed it could pass on a stock tune. I haven't examined to closely
-----NVM ZIPPY!, I SEE WHAT YOUR SAYING, and I agree------

Tuning is almost recommended after any sorta mod. Unless were talkin stickers.

I like this camshaft. If I weren't to go with a custom camshaft it would probably be this one, just with matching centerlines and the lda brought way down for more power.

I talked to the people at Thunder and they said this cam was dynoed with stock tuning. I ordered it thinking that this was the cam I wanted, but then I saw the results of the TR220 112 and wanted it even more. So they swaped them at no cost. I think the Old Man Cam would be a excellant choice for someone looking for a stock sounding idle.

i do agree the cam worked out pretty well though.

Quick,

Did you buy the TR 220 on a 112lsa, or 114?

Ohhh, I see what your saying. Yeah, the rev limiter wouldn't allow 6200rpms. So, yeah they must have done some tuning.

That is a ****** nice torque curve. Flat way past 5000rpms!

I wanna dig up quick's TR220 to compare

Yeah, look @ the O.M.C.'s torque curve. compared to the TR220. Different mods of course, but it's alot better.

Just looking at the torque curves, the old man cams curve may be flatter, but at 6000 rpm even though the tr220 is falling faster, it still has more torque than the old man camshaft. OMC @ 6000 between 250 and 275 lbs tq. Tr220 @ 6000 between 275 and 300 lbs tq. Even before that look at which cam shines in both hp and tq. I know which one I would rather have. TR220.

Yeah of course. Comparing numbers, the 220 definetly kicked butt.

Quickenuf's truck is about a ****** freak though. I was mainly comparing structure, or shape of the curve.
