Default new best et with colder plugs(6.0 whipple)

14.95 at 90.7

i still have alot of KR but not nearly as much with the colder plugs(ac delco red 8's), now i have more timing than i do KR so at least i am in positive timing. at each shift i would get about 5deg of KR, is that a false reading? then it would slowly fade away untill the next shift and jump back up again. i think i will have to throw in some racing gas to see if the KR goes away, if it doesn't i believe that i can desensatize my Knock sensors a little(is this proper thinking)?

ls1edit is suposta be here tomorrow, a 6psi and 9psi pully on wed. should give me alot to do this long weekend.

WOA!! i just calculated my duty cycle on my injectors. 132%!!!!! i am not sure if i am doing this right, 4710rpm with 33.54ms pulse width. it does seem to lean out a little at the top and the KR picks up a little too. 02's start out at .88-.92 but at the end of the run are closer to .875-.90. i better start a new post on injectors, looks like i need some if i am doing this right.

Dude? 14's? Sounds like you might have bigger problems than the injectors? This is a 6.0 liter with a Whipple and a Yank? High 14's??

I am very interested to see how things turn out when you get the tuning finished. I am thinking that a 6.0L with a whipple and about 9 pounds boost would be very nice in truck.... Keep me posted on how things go.

I just have to work up the effort to spend that money on a whipple instead of a few hundred on a wet shot. But I did hate having to fill the bottle 1-2 times a week.

2 times a week!!!!, if you are going thru that much nitrous then it seems like you need a whipple.

52weeks x 1.5 fillups x $40?= $3120+ the kit and your up to the price of the whipple.

thats the way I was looking at it also. I went used up a bottle in about 3 days. However, I didn't always have the money to go get it filled everytime. So I did have a week of down time or so.

I am looking into what I could do with a whipple on a 6.0L with some forged pistons.... How much boost could I get from a whipple for a 6.0L?

Also, another question for you whipple guys....is there a way to add an intercooler? The only reason i dont like blowers and turbos too much are because of the increase in the air temperature entering the motor. Along with the increased wear on the front main bearing. How does the whipple hold up to these things? I would like to have an intercooler if possible....a kit or an home made version. If I do actually get a whipple and take a look at the desing and how it mounts....chances are I can design something here at work and get it made to have a nice clean intercooler on the truck with the whipple....if possible. I am yet to see a whipple install in person.

i should be able to help you, i asked the whipple people how much the pump can handle, they really couldn't tell me but they did tell me that the smallest pully you can get is a 2-1/8inch.

right now i have a 3-5/8 with 3psi, each 1/8 is one psi, so to goto a 2-1/8 would be 15psi with my current set up. i think my exhaust is prety restrictive and do not know how much boost i will have with good exhaust. i am guessing that a heads and cam 6.0 with good exhaust wouldn't get over 10psi with the smallest pully but 10psi is alot. pump that thru an intercooler and it would be even less, i would love to have a 8psi intercooled heads and cam 6.0(600+fwhp?)

i am sure that you could do a intercooler set up, i may try it someday. with an electric fan set up there would be alot of room to run some tubeing
