if you set your shift points that high make sure the dfco fuel cutoff
is adjusted properly or it will be hanging through the shifts

I wouldnt do a mail order tune again if someone paid me there are better options out there a mail order tune is hit and miss and what they seem to be doing is throwing alot of timing and fuel in to the mix any monkey can do that and you can too with a handheld (not that your a monkey)

I dont know if you have a dyno in the area that can tune it for you but thats the best route second to that I would go with a handheld Ive heard the newer ones have alot more features. If you want to mod in the future I would go with the handheld definately.

I speek from personnal experience on this one spent alot of money and found out the hard way.

Dont know if I could help you with and thing with the TM, But I can tell you that if your like any one else on here you will keep adding mods. I know to start out with I was the same way you were about your truck and all I wanted was a programer to give me a little more. After you play a little you will want more and more thats the way I was. Buy the way I strongly recomend that you dont get the Hypertech I was very dissapointed with it, I would say you just add a little more $ to the 350dollars that you would waste if you got the HP3 and get a custom tune, dyno,or a HP tunner.

I got a nelson tune, and he even told me that at WOT I am now hitting 32* of timing. Timing and fuel may just be thrown at it, but it sure hauls *** compared to before, and there is no detonation. A dyno tune will almost always be better, but some people just plain don't have one locally, especially when you have awd BTW I got 80% TQM taken out, and I really like it. I would get 60-80 depending on how conservative you want to be with your truck.

I bought a Predator Programer for my truck, and wish I would have got a HP tunner aswell.

Concerning my earlier post I would like to aplogize to Alan I was a little bit hasty at dismissing his tune and in retrospect now that I have learned alot more I am corrected.

What made you change your mind about allens tune. There is definiately more to tuning than meets the eye otherwise every "monkey" would be doing it. Glad you have come back to the good side. There are so many variables in tuning that can be messed up that its impossible to get perfect everytime. Me personally i love my nelson tune. I dont recommend 100% tm removal read my sig and you will find out. My 3-4 clutch packs took a hike. Nelson tune is much better IMO and I gained .25 in the quarter over a hypercrap in the 1/4.

I have been dealing with Allen for over a year now, he has tuned two of my trucks and I have had nothing but great luck with his tunes. His tunes are great and the customer service is awesome.

Hey I own a 2000 Z71 sportside with a 5.3 and i have usually never lose to any kind of truck besides what would be like a srt 10 or a ford lightning. I have beaten an 03 or 04 ss silverado. My truck has a flowmaster muffler, still comes out in the stock exaust position, a K&N air filter, and a throttle body spacer. I felt the biggest difference from the throttle body spacer. My truck has stock firestone wilderness tires and the rear end has already went out on it. The spider gears were completely chewed up. I was curious what u guys think i would run in the quarter mile from hearing what i have told you. Considering its a good decently cool day and i launch fine. Any input is helpful thanks a lot
