Question for all you guys that already have a tune done by Allen. Is there a simple "generic" tune he sells to just pump a mostly stock truck, or are all his tunes built with the custom tune sheet he has on his website. Also, what do you do if you have to take it back for dealer work? Like on a HPPIII you can go back to factory specs. I've been trying to get in touch with Allen for the last week, or so, but found out he's away on business till Wed. That's why I'm asking the board, not him! Thanks

His mail order tunes are about the same for everybody but diffrent also.
You tell him your mods and he changes the programming accordingly.
you will notice a significant gain over the HPPIII with this mail order tune.
But If you where to get a personal tune it is even better. Some of us are lucky enough to have one. I have had a personal one tailered to my mods, and then he logged onto the truck and checked everything out, and then tweaked what needed to be tweaked for a little more umph.
you want have to worry about the dealership, if they scan your computer, all they are looking for are codes that are being thrown by your pcm. they dont actually look at the programming. but if they find a code, they will flash an update into your pcm to fix the trouble code. if they do this just have allen send you a new pcm and it will be takin care of.
hope this helps

So....concievably...if I had a HPPIII, and needed to go back to the dealer for something, especially computer related, I could actually download the Nelson tune into the HPPIII, as the programmer will think it's the factory tune, then load the "modified tune" into the pcm to have it worked on at the dealership. That might save going back and forth to San Antonio with the pcm, thru UPS, or hopefully Fed-Ex. Am I seeing this right?

No I don't believe you can download allens tune, the HP3 doesn't have those capabilities. I am not sure but I am thinking allen locks his tunes also. Just sell the HP3 and nelson tune will be one of your best mods for drivability.

I have a 93 octane tune on my 03. I had a Predator and I wasted my cash on it for sure. I did not know anything like Nelson's tunes existed.
I kind of have the next best thing to an in house tune. After my first tune I used my Predator's live diagnostics to record what my tune was doing and sent the results to Allen. He tweaked me another and WoW! I thought the first was great but the second is better yet. I have 80% Torque management removed. Man oh man!
You will need to call him.
