Default Nelson fan harness probs

I keep having trouble with the relays on my Nelson fan Harness not making connection. My truck has overheated 2 times in the Last 2 months . The last time it got real hot, Because I left it running while we were working a first responder call for a heart attack late one night and when I got back to my truck steam was coming out from under the hood. If you pull the relays almost out they seem to work okay but they are almost just sitting in top of the recepticle. I have tried tightening the little individual connectors and still the same prob. Any one else have this trouble. I thought about changing relays. Are there any better ones and how much are they?

Well at least you guys got relays. I installed mine and thought that the harness looked as if it was missing something. I couldn't get the fans to work and I called Neslons for their input and we tried everything. And as soon as I realized, they mentioned moving the relays around, I noticed that they where missing. They where supposed to send them Next day air. Its after 6PM and I haven't seen them yet.

Well I had some issues with my harness but after a couple of months of pulling my hair out, I finally got it figured out. My problem was along time ago. You might be talking about someone else(if your refering to me).

pull the cover off of your fuse box under the hood and try and find some relays of the factory brand. they seem to hold up pretty good.

Hey 98TAauto,

Did you ever get your fans on low speed. I can't either. Allen sent me some relays next day air and they didn't work until I switched them around. It worked with the AC but not on its own. Lets me think that one of the relays is not functioning properly. I noticed that only one spot has a place for a 5Th prong relay.

I have a harness made by Flyer, and FWIW all the relays are SPDT's (Single Pull Double Throw), the ones with 5 prongs.
