Default Need Torque Converter for my NBS

I need a torque converter for my 08 nbs but I dont know which transmission I have and are Ebay torque converters good ? Im looking at a 3000+ stall cuz i hate how every single car jumps before me when we race from a dig even when power launching. and If I changed the converter do I need to install something else?

tell us everything you know about your truck and we can point you in the right place... I can tell you now though, stay away from eBay converters... junk...

You more than likely have some variant of a 4LsomethingE... you will want to put a shiftkit in it, with some servos and get it tuned by something other than a handheld (hypertech, predator) to not make it throw misfire codes...

Actually I dont know what is the code of my transmission but it is a 5.3 4 speed auto so i guess they are the 4l60e

I found a good deal on monster torque converters and im getting a Transgo hd-2 kit (it says on them 96 to something will it fit mine) and about the servos i dont know where to get them . I have now is a custom tune and im getting an intake and a set of asp pulley on the way.

Denali Dude, what kind of custom tune do you have? A good custom tune will get you a lot farther than putting a new TC in, at least with the 5.3/4L60 combo you have in your truck. A good custom tune for someone like yourself will involve zeroing out the PE delay tables and eliminating the abuse management and torque management; the difference this makes is huge. I would suggest a vette servo for the 1-2 shift as well, but that's after a good tune. And by a good tune, I mean Wester's, BlackBear, Nelson etc.

My custom tune is from chip centric here in Dubai. and after installing the tci shift kit and the converter i'll go to him to remove the TM.

But what i want to know is the monster torque converter good or no because I dont have enough $$ for a precision or yank

save for a precision or yank IMO. You'd hate to have that converter fail and then wind up replacing the entire trans. You get what you pay for...

i tried to save money by going with a cheaper TC. I ended up buying 2 of them and pulling the trans. twice.

Do it right the first time and save money, buy a Yank.
