Default Need some tech advice on Evaporative Emissions Control system

My 03 Silverado 5.3L is throwing a P0449 Code. Which is the Evaporative Emissions Control system vent valve/solenoid circuit malfunction.

Would that code come up because I installed a K&N FIPK and it is causing problems with the system??

I don't want to take it to the dealer and have them look at it and say the K&N is causing the problem and we will not service it under the warranty.

Is there something simple I can do to check the problem or possibly fix the problem??

Need some good advice on what I should do at this point.

Thanks!

that has to do with the fuel evap system. First step is check to make sure your fuel cap is tight, then I'd take it to the dealer. The K&N won't affect it, and they shouldn't say anything.

I have been searching the internet about it and I came across the same conclusion that it does not effect the EEC system.

I checked the gas cap and it was tight. I have been a little over a week since I filled up and I have about 1/4 tank left. So a loose gas cap may not be the problem. Might be the valve/solenoid circuit itself.

No, I have not done any other mods.

I do have a PCM coming from PCMforless which should arrive in the next day or two.

Should I have the dealer look at it before I install the PCM from PCMforless??

I would. If the for some reason re-flash your PCM you are screwed.
